Before you try Reg Mitra

What the pilot does—and what it does not.

Clear answers about sources, coverage, client data, and external actions.

01What is Reg Mitra?+

Reg Mitra is a source-grounded regulatory research and client-impact review workspace for Indian CA firms. It helps a team research an official update, compare it with recorded client facts, and prepare a draft for professional review.

02Who is the current pilot for?+

The pilot is best suited to CA firm partners, tax and compliance managers, and teams that handle regulatory research across multiple clients. It is not a filing utility or a replacement for a complete practice-management system.

03What regulatory material is included?+

The current library contains a selected set of official publications, summaries, and index records covering CBIC, GSTN, CBDT and the Income Tax Department, MCA, RBI, SEBI, ICAI, EPFO, and FSSAI. Coverage is not complete, and it does not yet promise every circular, state rule, or update.

04Does Reg Mitra monitor every official source each day?+

No. The current pilot performs daily availability checks for selected calendar sources and uses a curated regulatory library. Full scheduled discovery and continuous coverage across every authority are still in development.

05How does it decide which clients are affected?+

Reg Mitra uses recorded client context and open work to structure an applicability review. The result is a prompt to review, not an automatic professional conclusion. Missing or conflicting facts remain visible until a reviewer resolves them.

06What is the difference between Answer and Prepare?+

Answer researches a question using the selected source library and shows citations, caveats, and missing evidence. Prepare creates an internal draft brief, checklist, proposed calendar change, document pack, or client note with an explicit approval state.

07Can Prepare send, submit, or file anything?+

No. In the current pilot, Prepare creates a draft only. It cannot send email or WhatsApp messages, file a return, make a payment, enter an OTP, or change a government portal—even after a draft is approved.

08Does Reg Mitra connect to Tally or government portals?+

Not in the current pilot. Tally, GST, MCA, and Income Tax connections are planned, but no live ledger or portal status should be assumed today. Never paste passwords, portal credentials, CAPTCHAs, or OTPs into Reg Mitra.

09Is Reg Mitra legal, tax, or accounting advice?+

No. It is a research and preparation aid for qualified professionals. Applicability, filing positions, client communications, and other professional conclusions require appropriate review.

10Can I use real client data in the sample workspace?+

No. The public sample uses sample records only. Do not enter confidential client information there. Real data belongs only in a firm workspace issued for the pilot.

11How does the seven-day pilot work?+

Request access from your work email. We confirm the workflow and setup, then create the workspace; the seven days begin at creation. No card is required, there is no automatic charge, and pricing is confirmed before any paid plan.

12Are the dates and statuses in the sample current?+

No. Sample clients, dates, statuses, conversations, and portal results demonstrate the review flow. They must not be used as current regulatory or client evidence.
